June 5, 1968 — Robert Kennedy assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan in kitchen behind the Embassy Room
1971 — Charles Manson murder trial jury stayed in hotel for 9 months
1989 — Official closing of the hotel
1989 — Donald Trump purchased the site for 64 million with plans to develop a high rise hotel
1990 — Ambassador Film established, a private company renting the hotel out for film production
